Brand New Ed Van Halen clip

Posted in Spirit on January 22, 2007 by kaylow

Here’s a clip of our old friend Ed at the Fender stage at this month’s NAMM event. He’s giving a demo of the brand new 5150 amps, and dare I say, he sounds good! Much better than that house of petals bullshit. Pay attention and you’ll hear him play the intro to Hot For Teacher, one of my all-time favorite Ed solos.

If this is how Ed is sounding these days (he seemed sober, too), then I will gladly saw my left arm off to see VH w/Dave this summer (I’ll just ignore Wolfie).

Fantastic guitar video

As some of you may know, I was a musician in my former life. I went to Berklee and everthing. When I was growing up, and especially now that I’m older, I get very aggervaged when I hear popular musicians say things like, “Man, I never had one lesson! I can’t even read music! A Wild Sheep Chase

Is there any greater joy?

I imagine there is no greater joy than being the catalyst which makes another person’s dream come true.

Back in October, Damomma reeled when her daughter asked for a flying butterfly suit for Christmas.

I was just as taken aback when I saw that she actually made it happen. The ear-to-ear smile in picture #3 is one of the most heart-warming things I’ve ever seen. Well done, Damomma.

O

If you don’t own a copy of "O" by Damien Rice [iTunes link] your existence is not as good as it could be. Like Natalie Portman said in Garden State, this album will change your life.

In fact, I’m so eager to share it, that I’ll gift a copy from iTunes to the first person who requests it via a comment to this post. Congratulations to Jonathan. Enjoy.
